Admission Requirements

MASTER OF SCIENCE IN CLINICAL MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING

  1.  for admission.
  2. Submit all official undergraduate and graduate transcripts from previously attended institutions.
  3. Submit an essay on your personal, career, and educational goals and how Ä¢¹½TV will contribute to those goals (300 – 500 words)
  4. Complete an interview with the Counseling Admissions Committee

±Ê°ù±ð°ù±ð±ç³Ü¾±²õ¾±³Ù±ð²õ:Ìý

  1. Must have completed an appropriate baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00.Ìý*
  2. Must have the equivalent or 12 semester hours in Behavioral Sciences (Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Anthropology, Family Studies) at the undergraduate level with a minimum GPA of 3.00

* Conditional Admission may be granted for those with a GPA of 2.50 – 2.99

MASTER OF SCIENCE IN APPLIED SPORT AND EXERCISE PSYCHOLOGY

  1.  for admission.
  2. Submit all official undergraduate and graduate transcripts from previously attended institutions.

±Ê°ù±ð°ù±ð±ç³Ü¾±²õ¾±³Ù±ð²õ:Ìý

  1. Must have completed an appropriate baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50.Ìý*
  2. Students must have completed the following in their undergraduate studies: Four (4) semester hours of anatomy and physiology, six (6) semester hours of kinesiology, biomechanics and/or exercise science, six (6) semester hours of psychology and three (3) semester hours of college algebra or higher.

* Conditional Admission may be granted for those with a GPA of 2.50 – 2.99

DOCTOR OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH

  1.  for admission.
  2. Submit official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions.
  3. If available, provide a copy of the unencumbered license in the state where the practice will occur.
  4. Write an essay providing a professional statement of past clinical and/or work experiences, scholarly activities, community service, and goals in obtaining this professional doctorate.
  5. Present a current resume and/or curriculum vitae
  6. Interview with the current doctoral admissions committee. After the initial application review, applicants may be contacted for a formal interview. If the interview results in a positive evaluation, the applicant will continue to be considered for acceptance.
  7. Applicants must demonstrate good spiritual, mental, and emotional health/stability consistent with the demands of the D.B.H. program and Ä¢¹½TV’s heritage of Christian values.

±Ê°ù±ð°ù±ð±ç³Ü¾±²õ¾±³Ù±ð²õ:Ìý

  1. An earned master’s degree ( a minimum of 48 semester hours) in a health-related field of study from a regionally accredited college/university.
  2. Current state licensure as a practitioner in a mental-health discipline or health-related discipline (strongly preferred, but not required)
  3. Two years of post-licensure clinical experience (strongly preferred, but not required)
