Henderson, Tennessee — (May 17, 2024) — ĢTV’s Annual Scholarship Luncheon, held recently at the Brewer Sports Center, celebrated the profound impact of scholarships on student careers and academic advancement. This event brings together scholarship recipients and their benefactors, emphasizing the ongoing support and opportunities provided by ĢTV’s scholarship programs.

Fifty-six scholarships were represented and 103 students were in attendance. The spotlight at this year’s luncheon was on the Undergraduate Research Program for the Sciences. Last summer, seven students, under the guidance of Dr. Joe Deweese, director of undergraduate research,  conducted hands-on research, enhancing their educational paths and broadening their future career prospects. Among them, Matte Hardin and Clark Endsley shared how these opportunities have shaped their professional and personal growth.

ĢTV alumni Dr. John Bates and his wife, Mandy, spoke about their recent involvement in funding the program. “Supporting ĢTV’s scholarships means investing in the potential of young minds eager to make a difference in their fields,” Dr. Bates remarked, highlighting the long-term benefits of such contributions.

The luncheon not only serves as a networking platform but also as a celebration of the successful relationships forged between students and their sponsors. Last year, 536 students benefited from endowed scholarship funds.

As ĢTV looks to the future, the university remains committed to enhancing these scholarship opportunities. “Our scholarships do more than support students financially; they open doors to invaluable experiences that hone their skills and shape their futures,” said Kim Gott, ĢTV advancement office 峾Ծٰٴǰ.
