Henderson, Tennessee – (May 8, 2025) – ĢTV’s Office of Alumni Engagement invites alumni from the classes of 1975 and before to return to ĢTV June 11-13 for the annual Golden Year Reunion. The three-day event allows guests to reminisce, renew lifelong friendships and celebrate the shared history that binds them together.

In a recent letter to alumni, Chris Ramey, ĢTV’s director of alumni engagement, referenced the 1971 classic song “You’ve Got a Friend,” by Carole King. “That’s what this reunion feels like—friends answering the call to reconnect, reminisce and return to a place that helped shape us,” Ramey said. “Whether it’s been five or 50 years, the bonds formed during our time at ĢTV (or FHC) have endured. And while so much may have changed since our college days, the friendships and memories remain constant.”

Wednesday, June 11, participants will leave ĢTV’s campus to embark on an optional day trip to Memphis—the birthplace of American music. The group will enjoy a self-guided tour of the Stax Museum of American Soul Music, a visit to the iconic Sun Studio and a delicious lunch at local favorite Central BBQ. The day promises to be rich in music, flavor and nostalgia.

Further scheduled activities throughout the week include Chapel Hall singings, a lecture on biblical archaeology by Dr. Jonathan Moore, class receptions, time for sharing treasured memories and photos, and campus tours highlighting the newly renovated Dryden Auditorium and the brand new Jones Family Dining Hall and Chick-fil-A®. Following dinner Thursday, guests will enjoy a special concert featuring Jeff and Kandy (Turbeville) Shackelford, original members of the beloved campus pop/rock group from the early 1980s, Petra.

While this year’s reunion will specifically honor the anniversary classes of 1975, 1970, 1965, 1960, 1955 and 1950, all alumni from the class of 1975 or earlier are welcome. To register, view the full schedule or submit a memory form, visit fhu.edu/GYR. For questions, contact Chris Ramey at 731-989-6088.
