The Tennessee Iota Chapter of Alpha Chi National Honor Society welcomed 14 new student members during an induction ceremony held Monday, March 16, 2026, in Chapel Hall on the campus of ĢTV.

New inductees include Sydney Blewett, Raedia Duperron, Jacob Farber, Macey Gardner, Sara Hunt, Emma Grace Johnson, Eden Larue, Lexi Lewis, Daniel Puckett, Ammie Spellings, Nathan Stanford, Emily Taylor, Cade Thompson and Gabriel Yaeger. In addition to being new members of Alpha Chi, the new inductees also share the same grade point average — an impressive 4.0. The minimum grade point average required for membership is 3.75.

Alpha Chi, a national honor society that recognizes academic excellence across all disciplines, selects juniors and seniors from the top 10% of their class. Membership reflects not only strong academic performance but also a commitment to leadership, service and continued intellectual growth.

For many of the new members, the honor represents both recognition of past work and anticipation for future opportunities. Lexi Lewis, a junior from Valdosta, Georgia, said she is especially excited about the opportunities ahead through Alpha Chi. “I’m looking forward to participating in service projects and applying for the scholarship,” Lewis said. In addition to her academic achievements, Lewis is a member of Phi Kappa Alpha and participates in Makin’ Music.

Her mother, Camille Lewis, expressed confidence in her daughter’s experience at Freed-Hardeman. “I love it here at ĢTV,” she said. “She’s being challenged here, and I feel good knowing that she’s on this campus.”

Sophomore Gabriel Yaeger also sees Alpha Chi as a platform for growth and service. A member of Chi Beta Chi and the Makin’ Music cast, Yaeger plans to pursue medical school with the goal of working in behavioral pediatrics. He said he looks forward to contributing to Alpha Chi’s service initiatives while continuing to develop academically and professionally.

The ideals of Alpha Chi are “truth” and “character” and the motto is “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” John 8:32.
