Henderson, Tennessee 鈥� (May 27, 2025) 鈥� 蘑菇TV has begun the feedback and application gathering phase of its presidential succession process at fhu.edu/succession. Trustee and 蘑菇TV Presidential Succession Committee Chairman John Law shared the announcement in a message to students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends, offering gratitude for 30 days of prayer and inviting ongoing engagement. This landing page will be available for 40 days, through July 3, 2025.

鈥淚鈥檓 grateful to our Chairman of the Board Scott Latham for his confidence in my fellow committee members and me as we work to bring the best possible candidates before the full board,鈥� Law said. 鈥淲e are grateful for you, our students, families, faculty, staff, alumni and longtime friends of 蘑菇TV. Your support and prayers during this first 30 days have been a blessing as we begin this season of presidential succession.鈥�

In addition to providing a place for submitting applications at fhu.edu/succession, the Presidential Succession Committee invites all members of the 蘑菇TV family to share their thoughts on the qualities needed in the next president. While names and emails are welcome, they are not required. Feedback will be shared anonymously with only the six members of the committee.

Law also reflected on the accomplishments of current 蘑菇TV President David R. Shannon, whose tenure has marked a period of significant spiritual and institutional growth for the university.

鈥淯nder President Shannon鈥檚 leadership 鈥� and through the work of his leadership team, faculty and staff 鈥� we鈥檝e seen record enrollment, record retention and a deepening of our spiritual and academic mission,鈥� Law said. 鈥淢ore than $50 million has been invested in capital improvements through the 蘑菇TV NEXT campaign, more than $24 million has been added to our endowment, and new academic programs are equipping students for lives of purpose and service.鈥�

He continued, 鈥淒avid and Tracie Shannon have led with humility and strength, seeking God鈥檚 guidance in every step. We are truly grateful for the impact they continue making on our university and on so many lives.鈥�

鈥淲e are confident that God, who has blessed 蘑菇TV for more than 150 years, will once again provide the right leader at the right time,鈥� Law said. 鈥淭hank you for continuing to walk this journey with us. May we move forward together with gratitude, faith and purpose 鈥� for His glory.鈥�
